artist Rick Jacobs Rick Jacobs was born on February 25th, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska. He and his family moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1966. Jacobs received his Associates of Art degree from Phoenix College in 1978 and later attended ASU where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art in 1996. He has practiced several art forms including painting, ceramics, jewelry making, (lost wax casting), and photography. Jacobs recently retired from a major corporation after 34 years and is now concentrating full time on his artwork. His use of bold and vibrant colors with thick texturing as well as the abstract conceptual design to his work can be both stimulating and thought provoking. Although Rick uses a brush with his work he also “pours” paint directly onto the canvas to create a thick texture and composition.
