Brittany Shepherd

Brittany Shepherd’s work examines private and public spaces, class and desire. Inspired by a longtime engagement with niche online fetish communities, the artist's paintings frequently reference hidden worlds that exist in plain sight. Shepherd’s compositions are explorations of opposing extremes of desire—for example, soiling oneself in mud or undertaking extreme sanitation measures.
