Chavis Mármol

Grounded in contradiction, Chavis Mármol’s art practice explores Indigenous identity in contemporary society, the irony of materiality, late-stage Capitalism, and slapstick formalism. With his vast knowledge of tools and materials, Mármol produces sculptures, site-specific installations, and performance sculptures imbued with political satire and social criticism—yet always with “play” at their core.
