Dabin Ahn is a painter, sculptor and installation artist. His most recent body of paintings and sculptures was inspired by the artist’s personal archive of vintage figurines. In these works, Ahn examines his inclination toward the artistic history of these objects while re-contextualizing them with different techniques and materials. The artist reduces these paintings to magnified compositions of isolated angles, drawing attention to the figurine’s body language and emotions through the magic of painting.
