About the artist:
Abigail Dudley (b. 1996) lives and works in New Jersey. She holds a BFA from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (2021) and is the recipient of the Frances M. Maguire Scholarship. Dudley is currently a fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center (FAWC) in Provincetown, Massachusetts, US. Specs:
Contrapposto gives weight to small moments of contemplation. The painting portrays a figure encompassed by the quiet drama that unfolds during introspection. The floor is uneven, prompting the figure to shift their weight to one side and creating a subtle tension that reads as a reflection of their interior world. Through stillness and restraint, the work transforms posture into a meditation on balance, presence, and inner life.More
