PRINTS & EDITIONS

A print is what remains after one surface leaves a mark upon another. Though sometimes a "copy", a print can also be a wholly original work of art. Some types of prints include the etching, the lithograph, the woodcut, and even the humble Xerox copy. A print can be one of many (either a limited, or unlimited edition) or a unique artwork in itself, also known as a monotype. See Platform's Glossary: Prints to learn more about the terms used to describe this category of artwork.
