Cody Hudson

Cody Hudson’s paintings and drawings are informed as much by the artist’s inner reflections as they are by his external environment. Through their arrangements of peculiar shapes and symbols, the artist’s work hints at a deeper approach to seeing. Hudson’s compositions evoke the natural world while simultaneously pushing into a transcendent and mysterious visual space.

BIO:

Cody Hudson was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin in 1971. 

Solo exhibitions of Hudson’s work have taken place at: Luis Buhl in Detroit, Michigan; David B. Smith Gallery in Denver, Colorado; The Holdout in Evora de Alcobaca, Portugal; Primary in Miami, Florida; mini galerie in Amsterdam, the Netherlands; ANDREW RAFACZ in Chicago, Illinois; Left Field in San Luis Obispo, California; HVW8 in Berlin, Germany; and V1 Gallery in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Group exhibitions that have shown Hudson’s work have taken place at: Somerset House in London, UK; De School in Amsterdam, the Netherlands; Graphische Sammlung ETHZürich in Zürich, Switzerland; Paradigm Gallery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Amala Gallery in Tokyo, Japan; Joshua Liner Gallery in New York City; Chicago Design Museum in Chicago, Illinois; Guerrero Gallery in San Francisco, California; Lamington Drive in Collingwood, Australia; and the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Hudson lives and works in Chicago, Illinois.
