Two chains and one hat
Simultaneously lewd and sweet, this cheeky painting compiles and transforms found images of nudists and exhibitionists through line and subtle color washes. Beyond the usual humor present in Gluibizzi's work, this composition's juxtaposition of two figures contains a smoldering erotic energy.
In this composition, Gluibizzi explores our image-saturated digital world—archiving, ordering and puzzling collected figures into open narratives. The figures in the painting are emblematic of the uncertainty that prevades our digitally mediated past, present and future. At the same time, this painting celebrates the beautifully complex search for connections humans undergo as they face the world.
