Puget Sound Memory - Third Tide Pool

This colorful landscape is drawn from memory and depicts the Puget Sound. Part of a series made during the 2020 pandemic lockdown, this work was inspired by David Dupuis' desire to return to the Pacific Northwest during his confinement. The act of drawing from memory acknowledges the alteration or disappearance of cherished landscapes due to climate change and overdevelopment. The artist also responds in this work to an urgent call for the arts to take action and document threatened ecosystems.
