About the artist:

Laurel Thoma is a New York-based artist focused on conceptual photography. Working primarily in self-portraiture centered on the nude form, her black-and-white photographs present the body as intimate yet removed, a recurring presence within the frame.

Born in Carmel, California and raised on the Monterey Peninsula, Thoma studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. In 2025 her work featured in a series of group shows curated by Aaron Stern for Webber Gallery in Los Angeles and London. Later that year, Thoma released debut publication, ‘Nine Silver Gelatin Prints’ to accompany ‘Polaroids, Small Prints & Ephemera’, at Webber Gallery LA. The book launched with a signing at Yvon Lambert Paris.
