Expanding on their practice of dismantling, layering, and reconstituting materials, Loren Davis Fisher’s newest body of work uses quilting techniques to assemble paintings. Piecing together remnants of previous works, the artist reconfigures familiar colors, symbols, and forms, drawing on the visual language of their broader practice. These works reflect the histories, materials, and processes of the artist’s studio, bridging painting, sculpture, and installation. Presented in artist-made frames, the pieces serve as studies for a forthcoming larger body of work.

About the artist:

Loren Davis Fisher (b. 1984) is an artist living and working in Los Angeles whose multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, installation, architecture, performance, drawing, and painting. Trained as a sculptor, Fisher explores the physical world by pushing the limits of materials and challenging the idea of the static object. Their work considers objects as living entities, carrying narratives and histories embedded in their materials, production, and form. Through an ongoing process of reconfiguration, deconstruction, and reconstruction, Fisher recycles symbols and forms into new compositions, creating a shifting dialogue between objects and images. Moving fluidly between two and three dimensions, their practice explores transformation, repetition, and the instability of physical structures, inviting viewers to consider reality as an ever-changing and adaptable space.

Loren Davis Fisher (b. 1984) lives and works in Los Angeles. They received a BA from Brown University, RI and a MFA/noMFA from University of Southern California.
