Louis Eisner’s Frog Dish is made of patinated bronze and cast through lost wax in New York City. Inspired in part by the ancient Greek play by Aristophanes titled The Frogs, it is designed to be a functional extension of the artist’s sculpture practice—used as an incense burner, soap dish, or receptacle for jewelry, mementos, loose change or knick-knacks.

About the artist:

Louis Eisner (b. 1988, Los Angeles) Lives and works in New York City. He is a painter and sculptor who moves freely through diverse genres of art. Graduating from Columbia University in 2011 with a B.A in Art History, his landscapes, portraits and still lifes, though rooted in classicism, are rendered with ruff realism that ignores the lines between familiar and strange.   

His work has been included in institutional exhibitions as well as Galleries both domestic and abroad. A selection of such venues include Fitzpatrick Gallery FR, Clearing Gallery USA, The Journal USA, Blum and Poe USA, Almine Rech USA, Jan Kaps GER, Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens BE, Fondazione Museo Pino Pascali IT, American Académie in Rome IT, The National Exemplar USA.
