These four pencil drawings on vintage mounting paper (from 1950s mass-produced art print portfolios) are part of an ongoing series of about 250 works begun in 2010. The series unfolds as a world of dream-like visions, abstracted glyphs, and sculptural forms developed through a meditative process that responds to each page’s natural marks—sun damage, creases, or ghosting from removed prints—transforming them into compositional cues.

About the artwork:

“The drawings aren’t started with an intended end, they are a process of discovery. Over fifteen years – the drawings have become a conversation between the series of drawings themselves and an unfolding conversation with myself as the world and vocabulary of this body of work expands. The final works take many forms; organic abstraction, figurative, text-like sequences, geometric pattern, architectural space, glyphs and symbols, etc… I’m interested in allowing life in. An unabashed range of emotion, impulse, intrigue and curiosity.”
