ABOUT:

Emma Gray HQ opened in 2013, creating site-specific solo shows at Five Car Garage with all types of work from video to paintings and sculpture. The gallery leans heavily toward showing women artists. Emma Gray HQ has been featured and reviewed in all major publications internationally and beyond, from ArtForum to the "Santa Monica Chronicle." The gallery has shown for many years with NADA at Miami and New York, and placed artists like Max Maslansky in LACMA as well as many more institutions. The gallery's goals going forward are to create unique pop-up exhibitions in LA, NYC and Europe. Emma Gray HQ's exhibitions are often in relationship or influenced by the meditation studio, “The Energetic Residency,” which operates above the gallery and was created by Emma in 2016. Quite a few of the artists the gallery works with are interested in consciousness and energy and how it interfaces with their work and their lives. Emma is a practicing energy worker/meditation teacher and artist. Working from the ‘inside out’ as an approach is integral to her relationship with the artists and how the gallery builds shows and visions together. The energetic residency also guides a new wellness and art foundation in Long Beach called The Compound.
