Craig Boagey is a London-based artist whose practice centers on painting and drawing. Working with combinations of oil and acrylic, Boagey creates densely rendered compositions that explore sensual, fleshy, and occasionally unsettling imagery. His works frequently draw from natural forms, particularly mushrooms, which function as symbolic devices through which he examines human behavior, desire, and systems of social exchange.
Boagey’s paintings are executed with meticulous precision and layered references to mythology, theology, poetry, and the occult. Through these visual and intellectual frameworks, his work considers humanity’s relationship with the natural world, technology, and one another. The resulting images oscillate between attraction and discomfort, inviting viewers to reflect on the psychological and cultural forces that shape human experience.
