Born in Montreal, Canada in 1963, Bock received her B.A. in Italian and Art History from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, and attended L’Università di Firenze in Florence, Italy. She traveled extensively, working various jobs in order to see the world, before settling for several years in Florence. She later returned more permanently to Montreal, with intermittent periods spent in Colorado, USA. She currently lives and works in Montreal.
Paint tubes are like genies in a bottle: once you squeeze them, you never know what you are unleashing. It’s highly addictive.
Influenced by the style of her grandmothers, the Italian countryside, the grace of animals, the elegance of trees, the rocky coast of Maine with its scent of salt and pine, the Canadian Shield, and Rick Danko, Dagny delights in squeezing paint tubes to see what will happen. Color is magic—just think of the Blue-footed Booby!
