Kathryn Kampovsky

Through the subtlety of a frozen embrace or a broken gaze, Kathryn Kampovsky’s figurative paintings ask us: Are we a community of individuals or individuals searching for a community? As a shy child, she felt most safest observing human behavior from afar. Today, she clarifies and untangles these understated moments as a way to explore identity, belonging, and the role of chance in her paintings.
