Alan Prazniak was raised on a horse farm in rural Pennsylvania, spending his formative years among the idyllic landscapes of the Delaware Water Gap. The artist's elemental work plays with opposing forces—such as pressure, balance, harmony and tension. Prazniak paints plein air, or directly from observation outside the studio. Prazniak paints carefully, allowing for both growth and a sense of immediacy in his compositions.
