This composition is part of a series by the artist, each work an iteration of a loose natural landscape of beasts, plants and shapes interacting with their surroundings and one another. Girard hopes that this series, at the very least, can serve as a reminder to viewers to go outside and observe the world that surrounds them.

Alexander Kori Girard was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1979. The artist graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 2001, receiving degrees in both graphic design and illustration.
