This photo collage combines text and photography to examine our collective experience of swimming pools and pornography. This is part of a series by the artist, a subversive exploration of our society's repressive attitudes toward class and leisure.
Dan Mitchell’s posters, magazines, drawings and prints examine the everyday in their depiction of commonplace social structures. His work frequently combines text and collage into bold and subversive works, encouraging viewers to confront repressive forces and reconsider their inner private lives. Mitchell is also a founding member of the Artist's Self-Publishers' Fair and the publisher of Hard Mag.
Dan Mitchell was born in 1966. His assemblages of text and images are culled from a variety of sources. He also works in sculpture and performance.
