About the artist:
Gregory Simmons (b. Los Angeles 1984) is a Brooklyn based artist renowned for his oil, pastel, and gouache paintings. Inspired by modern culture and social media, Simmons captures fleeting moments with humor and nostalgia, often incorporating social commentary. Self-taught, he draws from his love of skateboarding and 90s television imagery. Through his work, Simmons explores contemporary identity within the context of media and pop culture, inviting viewers to ponder the nuances of modern existence.
Gregory Simmons has exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, including Revolve at Market Gallery, curated by Adam Zhu and supported by Supreme New York (2025); Small Format Painting at 56 Henry, curated by Leo Fitzpatrick and Josh Smith (2025); American Tourist at Strada Gallery, curated by Beatrice Domond (2024); and his solo exhibition Secret Spy/The Fire in My Brain at Dale Zine, Miami (2023). His work has also been shown with Public Access and Swim Gallery. Selected clients include Calvin Klein, DC Shoes, Skate Jawn, Tenant, Vans, and Zoo York. Simmons has been featured in PopJelly Magazine, Thrasher Magazine, Overstandard Magazine, Gridlock Mag, and The Observer.
