Hermes’ painting merges playful cartoon imagery with satirical text, creating a whimsical yet thoughtful exploration of consciousness. Drawing from newspapers, comics, films, and advertising, he recontextualizes familiar visuals, transforming them through subtle alterations and replication. The work balances humor and distortion, inviting viewers to uncover hidden narratives beneath its lighthearted surface. Through this interplay of simplicity and complexity, Hermes crafts a space where the everyday becomes a canvas for reflection, nostalgia, and creative discovery.

About the artist:

Hermes' works explore his consciousness through playful cartoon imagery and satirical text. While each piece tells its own story, together they show his resistance to complexity and his desire to find simplicity in a chaotic world. Viewers are left to interpret what’s truly going on beneath the surface, as the meaning is often hidden behind humor and distortion.
