The Ramble

This painting depicts a monumental nude, queer figure in an idyllic landscape tinged with danger. The work simultaneously wrestles with ideas of traditional fertility and queer intimacy.

In this painting, a nude figure prowls through a grove of voyeuristic aspen trees that transform into a circle of men. In Greek mythology, aspen leaves symbolized protection and granted safe passage to the underworld.
