Nathaniel Matthews (b. 1991, Staten Island, NY) is an artist who lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. His practice is informed by a history in self-publishing and subcultures, and is often led by research and reference. The form of each work is determined by its subject, moving between sincerity and parody, attraction and repulsion, myth and reality, and distortion to reveal feeling without requiring resolution.
