Mother and Daughters
This painting depicts a family of four daughters and their mother standing nude in a bathhouse. One of the figures faces in toward the other women, while the other four face the viewer. Their lips are blue, matching the color of the wall behind them. The artist draws his narrative scenes and characters from both his imagination and from real-world observation—including television and the internet. Tessier created this work in his signature style by applying casein paint directly to a primed metal sheet. The result is a low-luster sheen that highlights every brushstroke.

③ Artist:
Yves Tessier creates narrative images through his use of casein paint applied to aluminum and wood. For every scene, he draws from both his imagination and real-world observation, including what he sees on television and the internet. Tessier’s compositions are sometimes sensual and humorously erotic, while others are meditative and serene.
