ABOUT:

Sean Horton opened his first gallery, SUNDAY L.E.S., as an artist-run project space in an abandoned sneaker shop on Eldridge Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in 2006. One of the earliest art galleries in the neighborhood, Horton Gallery has since operated in the Chelsea, Chinatown, and Rose Hill neighborhoods of New York City; the Kreuzberg neighborhood of Berlin; and the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas under several different names. The gallery has realized over 200 exhibitions, art fairs, and offsite projects in varying spaces and contexts, including the former Croton Brewery in Chinatown, the Mission Style Mallory Pharmacy building in Oak Cliff, and the parlor level of residential townhouses in Chelsea and Rose Hill.
