Veasey's work has evolved in technique and scale over his career, but his interest in the human form as a vehicle for color and line remains central to his practice. Inspired by photography books and fashion magazines, the artist carefully and methodically completes each of his portraits with great intention. The fundamental subject of each piece is the portrait's gaze–unflinching in its connection with the viewer.
