Friendship is the common thread running through this curation. We brought together artists we feel close to, whose work resonates with us and with whom we share an ongoing creative dialogue. These relationships are foundational to the selection.

We went to college with Anne Libby, Loren Davis Fisher, Annabeth Marks, and Sophie Stone, and those friendships have continued to grow over the years. With Cooper Jacoby, Valerie Keane, Nevine Mahmoud, Matthew Lutz-Kinoy, and Frank Traynor of The Perfect Nothing Catalog, admiration for their work came first, and friendship grew from there.

Some of these friendships span many years and have a depth unlike any others. They also continue to take new forms through collaboration. Sophie, for example, created an installation for our new store and makes the floral designs for our stores each month. There’s something special about growing alongside one another and seeing that shared history become part of what we each make.
